Easy classroom game! Great for centers, warm up, or review! This is one of my oldies, but goodies called the dice game.

Here’s how it works:
1) Each player needs a worksheet. Something quick like math facts is ideal. You can differentiate level as well based on student. I like to laminate my sheets so they’re reusable.
2) One player starts with a pencil or dry erase marker, the other starts with the dice.
3) When the game begins, the person with the pencil starts solving their problems, and the other rolls the dice. I like using the mini Tupperware containers so the dice don’t go flying everywhere.
4) When the person rolling the dice gets a 6, they say “Six” and they switch.
5) First person to finish their sheet or until time is up wins.
6) After the game, you can give students an answer sheet to check their answers.

Teacher tip: This game should be quick and used for a warm up or review. Usually never more than a few minutes.

September is #DeafAwarenessMonth. For those who have followed my journey, you know the Deaf community is very important to me. As a principal of a school that had deaf and hard of hearing students and families, I expected the school to be a welcoming place for all students, so we incorporated #ASL into many parts of our school. In addition to visuals around the school, our Deaf students also taught sign language to every student at the school each Friday at our school wide meetings.
